Mascara’s Love Affair

I love how mascara can make your eye lashes look long and voluminous, and make your eyes pop… But I dreaded wearing mascara because of the love affair between my  mascara and under eye. It didn’t even matter if the mascara was water proof… somehow my mascara would end up on my under eye making me look like a foolish raccoon. That is until I discovered…. Blinc’s Kiss Me Mascara! (available at Sephora and

Blinc Kiss Me mascara is a tube-technology mascara. This means that the mascara forms ‘tubes’ around your lashes, rather than painting them like traditional mascaras. Once applied and dried, the tubes stay put on your lashes and will not budge until you’re ready to take it off. No need to worry about smudges or flaking! Plus, it’s easy to remove unlike waterproof mascaras. The mascara will basically slide off your lashes. 🙂 If you’re interested in my mascara routine, click HERE!

Just a couple of things to note:

  1. This product is not meant to be waterproof. It claims to be ‘water resistant’ but it really should say sweat resistant. If you went swimming, you wouldn’t get smudges but you’d end up with mascara tubes that have slid off your lashes onto your face… which I guess is not a big deal cause you can just pull them off.
  2. Also, this mascara is great at defining, good at lengthening, but is not the most volumizing. But I’ll take a little less volume over smudges any day.

Have a happy and safe Halloween everyone!~

*Here’s a trick for those days you’re looking for extra volume: Apply a volumizing mascara (or volumizing lash primer) and let dry. Then apply the Kiss Me mascara over the volumizing mascara (or volumizing lash primer). The idea is for the Kiss Me mascara tubes to encase the regular mascara which will minimize the smudges. 🙂

I use this too and love it! I have strong raccoon eyes and find that Fiberwig (japanese mascara sold at Sephora) works great too! It lengthens lashes but sometimes the fibers can fall off on the bottom lid. No matter – both are great!
