Hello Sunshine. Goodbye Shine.

This post is in response to a question I received to the PA+++ vs SPF post.

Question:

“Can you recommend a sunscreen that won’t leave my face looking greasy? most of the time sunscreen tends to make me look shiny…especially when i apply it with foundation.”  (thank you fellow blogger and friend herimajination for the question)

Response:

  1. Make sure your sunscreen, moisturizer, primer and foundation are all oil free.
Some oil free sunscreens I’ve used include : Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50, Clarin’s UV Plus SPF 40, and Aveeno Continuous Protection for the Face SPF 30. These are all oil free and protect against UVA and UVB.
  2. Consider cutting down the number of products.
Maybe you can use a moisturizing foundation, and skip the moisturizer. Or consider using a moisturizer and foundation both containing sun protection and skip a separate sunscreen.
  3. Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Mineral SPF 30 may be a good option as well. (pictured on right)
This product contains physical ingredients (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) that sits on top of your skin and provides complete UVA and UVB protection. Great item to keep in your purse or even in your car for reapplication throughout the day!

Have a great week everyone!

I have the PTR and leave it in my purse, I love it! During weekends I use it as my go to powder, It doesn’t add oil or make my skin feel oily at all. But when I do get more oily throughout the day I blot my skin then reapply PTR, it’s so handy to have because it’s easy to use and can be applied over your makeup. BTW, I’ve tried the same but in SPF 45 and the color is a bit too dark on my skin tone even though it’s supposed to be translucent….

i don’t have this one but i have the peter roth brush sunblock and was so excited to like it but it just leaves my face looking so dull. but i wanted somehow to “reapply” my sunblock without having to wash my face over again.

i really like the geurlain face powder
    http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/guerlain-meteorites-voyage-compact/3081946?origin=category&resultback=4600

it makes me look less tired at the end of the day when i’m going out. puts a little more “life” to a tired face. the PTR made me look “more tired”.

the geurlain is not cheap. but it’s worth it!

The sunscreen lotion is a perfect formulation of organic chemicals for blocking UV radiation. It should prove to be effective. Thanks for the information.
