Sneak Peek: Youngblood Spring 2012 Collection

Excited to share with you today the 2012 Youngblood’s spring collection. These items will be available beginning March 1, 2012.

Eye Illuminating Duo ($22)
My favorite item in the collection. This double ended pencil is genius. It’s a shimmer and a matte pencil wrapped up into one! I can use the shimmer (iridescent champagne-beige) on my brow bone or inner corners of my eyes, or use the matte (pink-nude) side to act as a base on my lid before applying shadow, highlight my brow bone and line my waterline to instantly make my eyes look bigger and brighter. I prefer using this matte pink shade versus a stark white pencil, which can look unnatural. The consistency is great too. The shimmer side glides on smoothly, and the matte side is like a very soft crayon. No tugging involved!~Like I said, it’s my favorite and go to highlighter pencil.

Lipstick in Tangelo ($19)
This coral /orange color lipstick is great for spring! Unfortunately, I have a love/hate relationship with orange. I love it, but it ‘hates’ me. While the color isn’t right for me, if your skin tone looks good with orange, I would recommend it based on the quality of the lipstick. It’s very smooth and feels more like a very pigmented lip balm. The color can be applied sheer to medium as shown below. While they call it a lipstick, I think it feels and behaves more like a super pigmented lip balm… which means you have to reapply a bit more often than a stain or traditional lipstick.

Luminous Creme Blush ($27)
They weren’t kidding when they say “Luminous.” These cream blushes give a shimmery (iridescent) glow to the skin. When applied with a blush brush, while it’s super luminous…  the color applies so sheer that it’s almost not important which color you choose!~ So the good news is that you can’t go wrong with any of the 4 colors. You can choose to wear alone as a blush, or apply on top of a normal powder blush to add additional color and shimmer. Plus, it’s oil free and contains vitamins C and E which are always a plus.

Taffeta probably shows up the most on the skin in terms of color. Makes you look like you just came in from the cold. Best when applied to the apples of the cheeks.

Tropical Glow really makes your skin “glow.” It’s a great cream highlighter for the cheekbones and the brow bone!~ Great for a dewy look.

Rose Quartz is probably one of my favorites. It’s a perfect mix of pink-copper. I like to use it as on my eyelids as a shimmer eye shadow, applied with my fingertips.

This is my other favorite color and it’s BEAUTIFUL. Love  on my cheeks as a shimmery highlighter and on my eyes as a shadow and/or highlighter.

So there you have it!~ A sneak peek into the Youngblood’s spring collection! All the items above will be available on March 1, 2012 at; Fred Segal in Santa Monica, CA; Henri Bendel in New York; The Plaza Beauty in New York; and select spas and salons!

A special thanks to Youngblood for letting Pretty Gossip-ers take a sneak peek into their spring collection.
