LUSH: Dragon’s Egg {Bath Bomb}

First of all, thank you all for your support of my current giveaway. I’m over 2,000 Facebook likes and the MEGA Giveaway is unlocked and ready for someone to win! Thank you.

I recently made a trip to LUSH and picked up a few fun products. The product I’ll review today is a fizzing bath bomb called Dragon’s Egg! Dragon’s Egg has a light sweet and citrus-y smell, and is mostly white with small patches of pink and yellow. Imagine my surprise when this simple looking bath bomb dissolved to reveal a luxurious surprise inside!~

Here’s what LUSH had to say about Dragon’s Egg: Unleash fire and bathe in a whirlpool of magnificently vibrant, sizzling color and a spectacular explosion of sights, sounds, and scents. Inhale the refreshing sherbet-y citrus scent of lemon and bergamot; you’ll feel like you’re up and away on the back of your own dragon. This mystical Bath Bomb fizzles, crackles, curls, and ends with a glitter explosion. Citrus oils are known for their invigorating effect on the mind, and Dragon’s Egg is no exception! Drop one of these into the bath for a serious wake-up call on groggy mornings, or before an evening out.

Here’s what I have to say about Dragon’s Egg: I highly recommend LUSH’s bath bombs. Most of them sell for about $5.95, so they’re not cheap… but they’re really a nice way to treat yourself after a long week. The bath bombs leave your skin feeling soft and there are a variety of delicious scents. When you step into the bath water, you’ll notice that even the water feels “softer” than normal, so imagine what it does for your skin. πŸ™‚ I particularly love Dragon’s Egg because of it’s fresh (citrus) and sweet scent (sherbert). Also, this bath bomb gave me a surprise by filling my bath tub with tiny sparkly gold glitter! Felt like I was in a luxurious bath of gold. I’ll definitely be getting more of these bath bombs for myself as well as gifts.

How to use a bath bomb: Fill tub with water and drop bath bomb! You can get in the tub before or after the bath bomb has dissolved. Up to you. I usually like to get in with the bath bomb so I can really enjoy the smell and see the bath bomb fizz around the tub. No need to rinse off. Just pat dry with a towel.

Photos of the fizzy and frothy fun!

After 30 seconds in the water.

After 30 more seconds. This is when I realize that my Dragon Egg isΒ golden!

This last bit of the bath bomb (below) wasn’t dissolving, so I just crumbled it with my fingers. As you can see, the water is tinted yellow with a little bit of froth.

Hard to capture the gold sparkles, but here’s what the water looks like close up.

I was told that you don’t need to rinse off after a bath bomb, but I wasn’t sure if I’d need to rinse of the gold sparkles. When I stepped out of the bath, I was surprised to see that most of the glitter stayed in the water and not on my body. I didn’t have to rinse at all.

Once the water drained, there was quite a bit of glitter at the bottom of my tub. The tub was not stained in any way and the glitter rinsed away very easily. Perfect.

Hope this review has been helpful. What bath bombs have you tried?

    Oh, I have been wanting to try some Lush products. They seem so much fun and I have heard that they are really good for your skin. I wonder if every Dragon’s Egg is a different color? Your pictures came out really well, you can definitely see the glitter in the water. πŸ™‚

    I think this is the most helpful bath bomb post I’ve ever seen! Most reviews I see are just too many pictures of the dry bath bomb haha. I love the water pictures and the progression of how it dissolves. I’ve only tried the Sex Bomb Bath Bomb, I’m still a big kid so I LOVE the Bubble Bars!
