{Pony Tail Curling Trick} Loose Curls in 2 Minutes!

Hi Lovelies,

I know it’s been awhile since my last hair tutorial, but I wanted to make sure that my next tutorial would be something you’d love and haven’t seen anywhere else! Well I’m super excited to share what I’ve named the Pony Tail Curling Trick. Seriously, it’s a GAME CHANGER and you saw it here first! 🙂

This hair tutorial will show you how you can achieve loose natural waves in just 2 minutes. I promise! Even if you have long hair like me. No more strained arms due to curling marathons. Just beautiful waves in 2 short minutes.

MUST TRY Pony Tail Curling Trick- PrettyGossip

My hair is about waist length and it typically takes me 20 minutes to curl my hair, and when I’m done… I’m never quite happy. The curls are too tight and I have to spend a few more minutes trying to relax the curls. OR… I end up with too loose curls and run out of time. 🙁 Never again!

With this game changing curling trick… I can curl my hair in 2 minutes. To prove how easy it truly is, I’ve used the photos from my very FIRST attempt in the tutorial below! No practice needed. It’s fool proof, easy, and looks oh so goooood.

Pony Tail Curling Trick Tutorial by PrettyGossip

1. PONY UP!
Get your completely dry hair into a high ponytail.

2. CURL!
Section your hair into 2-4 sections and curl. The thicker your hair, the more sections. I sectioned my hair into 4 sections. Don’t worry about which direction you’re curling. It doesn’t make a difference. Just remember to curl from the base (close to the rubber band) and work towards the ends of the hair. You wanna make sure that the base of the ponytail gets a good curl.

3. SHAKE IT!
Take down your ponytail and shake it out! You’re gonna look GREAT and be shocked at how easy it was.

Who knew that a simple pony tail can be the secret trick to achieving natural loose curls?!

Good luck! I’d love to see your photos so please share your photos with me.

    Hey,
I love this idea, seems so quick and easy compared to most hair curling tutorials. But I’m just wondering can you do sort of beachy waves with this method? They’re my faveourite hairstyle 🌊
    Thankyou xxx

does length of hair matter? and if the hair is in layers does it affect it in any major way?

Hi! Thanks for your question. The longer the hair, the easier it will be even with layers. The shorter the hair, the harder it may be to have a high ponytail. Even with shorter and layered hair, I recommend trying this trick. I’d recommend not putting the ponytail as high so you have more hair to curl at the ends of the ponytail. Hope this makes sense! Thanks for visiting and I hope you’ll visit again!

Do you put your point tail tight?

HI! The tightness of the ponytail is not too important. It’s just a matter of having the ponytail stay where you want it to. The higher the better in my opinion. 🙂 Good luck and thanks so much for visiting!!! Please share your photos with me on Instagram if you’re on there! #prettygossiphair or @prettygossip

Why does it curl easier when it’s in a ponytail? You’d think that it would curl the same with or without it.

Hi! I thought the thing, but you curl less hair when it’s in a ponytail. The hair near the base of your head is in a ponytail so you end up not curing that section. The ponytail allows you to concentrate on curling the bottoms of the hair as well as the outside sections which shows the most when you let down your hair! Hope this makes sense.

Hello, I’m little confused with the instruction. If starting at the base close the the rubber band, how do I twist the curling iron. Do you wrap the hair around the curling iron instead? Thanks!

    • May 10, 2014 / 1:24 am

Yup! You can wrap your hair around the curling iron, or curl your hair as you work the iron from the base to the ends. So curling small sections down the length of the hair. Hope this makes sense! Good luck!
