If you’re looking for the best selling cleansing oil, this post is for you!
When I asked a Sephora’s sales associate for their most popular cleansing oil… without hesitation, she handed me Boscia’s Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed to find out that it was a Boscia product. I haven’t had the best of luck with Boscia products (read about it here). But just because one product within a brand didn’t work for me doesn’t mean all their products won’t work… so~ I was willing to give it a try.
An effectively gentle way to deeply cleanse, this refreshing cleansing oil melts impurities and makeup without leaving an oily residue. This effective formula gently melts impurities and makeup, including waterproof, without leaving an oily residue. It is formulated with antioxidants and botanicals to soothe and protect skin. Hydrangea leaf helps to purify skin and minimize pores, geranium helps invigorate skin while supporting natural circulation, and botanical amino acids leave skin smooth and free of impurities. Available at Sephora for $28.
// Consistency //
It is similar to a heavy serum. Unlike some other cleansing oils which can be too thick making it difficult to use, Boscia’s Cleansing Oil was easy to apply and rinse off. I was able to easily rub on my face without any irritation or tugging.
// Waterproof Makeup Challenge //
To really test Boscia’s Cleansing Oil, I put it up against some of my best waterproof eye makeup. Here’s the lineup…
// How to Use //
As shown in the photos below, apply the oil directly onto dry skin. Rub gently over skin to break down the makeup. Then emulsify the cleansing oil by adding a little bit of water. Rub a little more before rinsing with warm water.
// Effectiveness //
I was very happy with the results. You can see from the photo above that the cleansing oil removed almost everything except Stila’s All Day Eyeliner. Stila’s All Day Eyeliner needs to be removed with a separate eye makeup remover. If you’re looking for a good one, check this post out.
// Cooling Effect //
I didn’t feel any cooling effect. Not sure why Boscia named this product with the word “Cool” in it.
// Smell //
I don’t think they’ve fragranced the formula, so it smells very natural. Essentially scent free.
// Overall Thoughts //
I highly recommend this product. Boscia’s Cleansing Oil is $28 for 5 oz which is about $5.60 per oz. Not cheap, but it’s a great product and I will probably be repurchasing once I’m out. 🙂 I hope that you’ve found this review helpful!
