Hello Beautiful! Today’s skincare review is on Belif’s Witch Hazel Herbal Extract Toner. I first purchased Belif’s Moisture Bomb when I was in Korea about 4 years ago. Since then, #KBeauty exploded in the States and Belif’s Moisture Bomb has become a cult favorite! When I saw that Sephora was selling Belif, I picked up their Witch Hazel Toner. I loved their Moisture Bomb and I’m happy to say that I think Belif’s Witch Hazel Herbal Extract Toner is the best toner for dry skin!
A toner formulated with witch hazel to hydrate dry, dull skin, leaving it hydrated, soothed, and balanced after cleansing. This botanical toner is formulated to hydrate dry, dull skin, leaving it even and deeply moisturized after cleansing. It contains a blend of apothecary herbs, including witch hazel, to help clarify and hydrate skin by sealing in moisture. Skin appears supple and revitalized over time. Formulated without: Sulfates and Phthalates. This dermatologist tested product is free of mineral oil, synthetic preservatives, dyes, and fragrances, and animal origin ingredients. Available at Sephora for $28.
Here’s my review of
Belif’s Witch Hazel Herbal Extract Toner!
Consistency: This Belif toner is a lot richer than other toners and has a milky consistency. If you’re looking for a refreshing toner, I don’t recommend this toner. If you have dry skin… this is a winner!
Scent: Has a pleasant herbal scent. Not too strong, so I don’t mind it at all.
Purpose: Most people use toners to remove remaining residue left after cleansing. Also, toners are used to prep the skin for the next steps of skincare. Due to the consistency of this toner, this toner has a slightly different purpose and use. It does not serve as an extra step in removing residue from the face. It is great as an extra dose of moisture for the skin. It also helps soften the skin to help prep it for serum and moisturizer.
If you’re looking for a “cleansing” toner, I wouldn’t recommend this toner. I’d go with a simple liquid witch hazel toner. Thayer’s Witch Hazel Rose Toner is one that I highly recommend. Just a simple and gentle toner that gets the last bit of makeup residue all off.
Moisture: The formula is great if you’re looking for a moisturizing toner. My dry skin feels so nourished whenever I use this toner. The formula relieves tightness and preps the skin for serum and moisturizer. I love how it makes my skin feel and I know I’ll be reaching for this toner more in the fall and winter months as the weather gets colder.
How to Use: After thoroughly cleansing my face, I pour a quarter sized dollop on a cotton pad and gently swipe it all over my face including my neck. Then I follow up with a serum and my moisturizer.
I like using the product day and night, but if you have combination or oily skin, you may just want to use this product in the evening. This product is a lot richer than the toners you might have used in the past.
Overall Thoughts: I highly recommend this toner for dry skin. If you have oily skin or combination skin, I’d recommend it for the evening during the cold months when your skin may need a boost of moisture.
