{Too Faced} Better than Sex Waterproof Mascara

Hello Lovelies! I’ve been a bit MIA (sorry!), but I’m back! I recently traveled to Japan and Korea so I have a ton of stuff to review for you. I’ll be sharing mini reviews on Instagram (@prettygossip) so be sure to follow if you don’t already! Today, I’d like to review a mascara that I’ve used on and off for the past 2 months. Let’s take a look at how the new Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara performed on my sparse and super straight lashes.

A waterproof, intensely black, volumizing mascara with an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection. Now in a waterproof formula, Better Than Sex Waterproof mascara has a volumizing formula with added high-performance and water-resistant polymers for waterproof, sweat-proof, play-proof wear. The hourglass-shaped brush was designed with extra stiff bristles to maximize the performance of this carbon black, collagen-fueled formula. One coat and lashes are full and defined. Two coats and lashes are even more luscious, curled, and dramatic.Three coats and you’ve achieved your most intense, voluminous, waterproof lashes possible. Available at Sephora and Ulta for $23.

Below is a close up of the wand. The brush is curvy which should help with apply to the inner and outer lashes. Also, notice the thick the formula? You can see it clumped around the bristles of the brush.

The original Better Than Sex Mascara formula made my lashes go straight even after curling. The formula was too wet. Let’s see if the waterproof formula also makes my lashes go flat. See the before and after photos below!

To my delight, my lashes stayed curled. Not sure if it’s the brush or the formula, but I found it a bit difficult to apply evenly without clumping. It wasn’t bad, but I did have to be careful not to clump my lashes together.

Overall Thoughts:

You can see in the photo above that my lashes are more defined, volumized and remained curled. 🙂 But, the formula was difficult to work with on my limp and sparse lashes. Also, the curvy brush made it difficult to apply. My lashes are short, so the brush couldn’t get close to my lashes without getting mascara on my lids!  I will not be repurchasing.

Overall, this is a good mascara if you have long and full lashes and you’re looking to add some drama. The formula stayed put without flaking all day and yes, it is waterproof! The mascara required a good waterproof eye makeup remover. Click here to see what I used.

I hope this review has been helpful. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below or leave me a comment on Instagram.

You should try Lash Boost! Works on lashes & brows! Don’t need to fill in my brows anymore & my lashes are longer & starting to curl on their own! 🙂

Hi! I actually JUST purchased and I’m excited to see if it works for me! I have sensitive eyes so hopefully it doesn’t irritate my eyes. xo
